Kāpēc kardio treniņiem ir liela nozīme cilvēka veselībai? - Vitamins.lv

Why is cardio training so important for human health?

Nowadays, strength training in the gym is becoming increasingly popular, where the body's skeletal muscles are trained, making them stronger and more resilient. In parallel with this strength training, one must not forget about training the most important muscle in the human body – the heart. To have good cardiovascular health, alongside daily strength and weight training, one must also perform aerobic (cardio) exercise. In this article, we will look at the main benefits and provide answers to the question of why cardio training plays a major role in improving and maintaining human health.

The heart is a muscle that benefits from exercise just like other muscles in the body. Aerobic exercises, which include activities such as brisk walking, running, swimming, and cycling, allow the heart to pump blood to the entire body more efficiently.

Improves cardiovascular health: According to the American Heart Association, aerobic and cardio exercises are recommended for people with heart disease or those at risk. This is because cardio and aerobic exercises help strengthen the heart muscle and help it supply the body with blood more effectively. Movement for the cardiovascular system can help lower blood pressure and maintain normal cholesterol levels in the blood, as well as reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Improves sleep and strengthens the immune system: Researchers at Pennsylvania State University conducted a study examining active and sedentary women and the effect of exercise on their immune systems. One group exercised on a treadmill for 30 minutes, another group performed an intense 30-second workout activity, while the last group did not exercise at all. Blood was drawn from all women before, after, and at various intervals in the days and weeks following these sessions.

The results showed that regular and moderate aerobic activity increases the amount of certain antibodies in the blood called immunoglobulins. These antibodies strengthen the immune system. The sedentary group of women did not show improvement in immune function, and their cortisol levels were much higher than those in the active groups.

More energy: Most people who start incorporating physical training or activities into their daily routine immediately notice that they feel very good after a workout. Physical exercise helps improve energy reserves by releasing endorphins and providing long-lasting energy throughout the day. Therefore, plan your daily workouts or evening jog in the fresh air no later than 2 hours before bedtime; otherwise, you will be too energetic, and getting to sleep on time will be a problem.

Widely accessible and free: You do not need a fully equipped gym to train your cardiovascular system. You can go out into the fresh air every day and benefit both your physical and mental health. Taking the dog out, going for a walk, jogging, or cycling will not cost you anything from your wallet, but the benefits to your health and well-being will be immeasurable.

Find your workout clothes, put on your sneakers, and go out into the fresh air to move! You will not only improve your immune system, helping to avoid colds or the flu, but also improve your cardiorespiratory fitness, thereby increasing your chances of living longer.
